A Fractured Fairy Tale

I tried to work in some common fairy tale things as well as keep the narration more 'modern' sounding. Not meant to be as polished as my usual--the narrator in this is after all, a street punk. And a cute one at that. I didn't find this contest until about four days ago, so when I wrote this I didn't get the time to do characterizations/plot in the detail I might have liked. I suppose it's reflected here, but hey, I tried if nothing else.

Keep in mind before commenting:

1. Hit 'download' to view. It got long because of the spacing required to view it properly on a screen.

2. Most of this was written at the wee hours over the course of 2 days. Will be edited later.

3. Rated 'mature' for some language and risque content. Not really above PG-13, but wanted to be safe.

4. This is 'simpler' narration than I normally use. Copper's a street punk, not Shakespeare, so I wanted to reflect that.

5. Yes, my ' preview image' is garbage, but I couldn't upload without one.

6. Yes, the formatting is kinda screwy in some places. Suggestions welcome on how to fix that.

Edit:3/1/08: Went back and fixed a few things to make them a little clearer and neatened up the ending a little.
