Revamped Writing Commission Journal

Hello all,

I had a look over my previous commission journal and decided some length reduction and clarification was in order. So, if you're interested in a commission from me, here are the basics:

Current status:  Will be open for ONE SLOT (5,000 words) starting October 10th, 2018, first come, first served.

Will do:

Stories with strong character development
Helping expand/develop things/characters in your current story (with credit)
LGBT+ characters (may need to research some things)
Simple plots
Slice-of-life
Human/humanoid characters
Adult content as long as it has a storyline and not just adult activity. For this, if I suspect you're asking for adult content and are underage, you will be blocked and reported. Due to dA policy, adult commissions will be emailed rather than posted.

 Genres I excel at/prefer to do:

Dark/urban/general fantasy/very soft sci-fi (fantasy strongly preferred)
Romance/fluff (although the Harlequin style stuff doesn't appeal to me, so you won't get purple prose/anyone falling into anyone else's arms )
Mildly creepy stories
First/third person (Ex: "I went to the store"/"she went to the store.")

Iffy genres: (I can write in them but you may not get the best results)
Horror
Second person (Ex: "You go to the store.")

Genres I'd prefer not to do: (I may consider commissions for these, but results will probably not be as good)
Mystery
Historically/militarily accurate works/works set in countries/cultures other than the US
Hard sci-fi

Will NOT do: (please don't ask me to write/do these things for you):

Anything with underage characters in adult situations/things with dubious consent
Material promoting prejudice/hate against any group for any reason
Fanfic of any variety (because of potential legal issues)
Ghostwriting
Point commissions
Excessive physical descriptions of characters/settings
Anything requiring a lot of research/technological knowledge/complex plots (don't have time for it at the moment, sorry).
Excessive gore/vore/fetishized content/snuff

Length/rate/payment:

Anything above 5,000 words is closed at the moment. If your story requires me to go over this, I will let you know before I do it. I can let you know a ballpark estimate of how many words I think your commission requires, but I can't guarantee a firm word count before I actually write.
Rate is $10 USD per 1,000 words with a minimum of half due up front.

What I need from you: Send me a very basic outline with your characters, basic physical descriptions and personalities, as well as your setting. I can also make characters up for you based on general ideas, but please note me first. Basic outline of the story you want written with a clear beginning, middle and end is required. I will ask questions in regards to your outline if I need more information. Outlines with excessive detail are less likely to be considered. I like adding my own details to things, so the more strict your outline, the less freedom I have, and I tend to enjoy doing those types of commissions less.

Process: I do this on the side when I'm not working at my 'real' job.

Since I keep an irregular schedule, my turnaround time can vary. As I write, I send you bits and pieces for approval before moving on to the next part. I will write the amount of words you paid me for, then do more as I'm paid (Ex: You pay me $30 out of $50 for a 5,000 word commission. You get 3,000 words until you review those words and pay me the remaining $20).

Please be patient and give me at least a week after I've sent my last update before asking after your commission status. If you fail to maintain courtesy, your commission will be suspended.

Refunds/edits:

If for some reason I can't complete your commission, you will be issued a refund. Ex: If you pay me $50 for 5,000 words and I do 2,000, you will be refunded the outstanding $30.

Edits: I am willing to edit mistakes that are mine, but things not included in your original outline and/or editing whole paragraphs more than twice will cost you an additional $3 per edit. Whole page edits are an automatic $5 charge.  Please be aware of this before asking for edits.
